Know Your Rights/California will hold a “Social Security and the LGBT Community” town hall to educate LGBT seniors and families about their enhanced rights and resources under Social Security.  The town hall meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs, 480 S. Sunrise Way.

There will be a number of panelists who will share information about Social Security financial benefits for same-sex married couples and families, the importance of filing for benefits as soon as possible, impact of marriage on SSI, positive reasons for delaying Social Security benefits until age 70, and many more topics.

The complimentary continental breakfast reception begins at 8:30 a.m.  The panel discussion will begin at 9 a.m.

Sheridan Care Desert Cities is proud to be a co-sponsor of the town hall, which is hosted by Know Your Rights/California in partnership with The Center.  Know Your Rights/California is a unique collaboration between the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Foundation, the Social Security Administration and The California Wellness Foundation.
